DeHart Recycling Equipment Inc. was founded in 1947 by Glen DeHart Sr. The company found its direction in 1974. Glen DeHart Jr. moved the business into industrial recycling equipment, serving local paper and metal recycling facilities.
Over the years, DeHart expanded from equipment sales into service, installation, rebuilds, parts, accessories, and custom conveyor solutions. Sean Justen and John Messerly acquired the business in 2003, continuing DeHart’s reputation for practical solutions, equipment knowledge, and customer support. The company moved into a larger 26,000 sq. ft. facility in Hazelwood, Missouri in 2008, giving DeHart more room for equipment, rebuilds, service, parts, and continued growth.
Brent Becker acquired DeHart Recycling Equipment in January 2025, with a focus on continuing the company’s long-standing service-first approach while investing in the next stage of growth. Sean Justen continues to serve as President, helping maintain the experience, customer relationships, and equipment knowledge that have defined DeHart for decades.
Today, DeHart continues to serve customers with the same practical approach that built the company: understand the application, recommend the right solution, support the equipment, and stand behind the work.
